Ottobock supports the European Para Athletics Championships Berlin 2018

From 20 to 26 August, 650 athletes from 30 countries contended for medals at the continental Para Athletics competitions in Berlin. Ottobock once again provided technical support to the athletes at a Repair Service Centre as an official partner of the European Para Athletics Championships.

Seven O&P professionals were on hand to assist the athletes every day in the 70 m² Repair Service Center, which was fully equipped by Ottobock Planning & Equipping. Peter Franzel, Sports and Marketing Director at Ottobock, says: “Athletes shouldn’t have to miss their competition due to faulty equipment.”

For the first time, a European Running Clinic was also held alongside the European Champions, offering participants from 10 European countries the opportunity to try running on a sport prosthesis under the direction of Heinrich Popow. Our Ambassadors Martina Caironi and Johannes Floors took first place in their disciplines, the long jump and the 200-m sprint.
